At last Monday’s Mayor’s Town Hall, residents shared ideas for enhancing the area surrounding the City’s gateway sign near the intersection of Lawrenceville Highway and Pleasant Hill Road. Their suggestions centered on ways to improve the appearance and visibility of this key entrance into Lilburn.

Mayor Crist hosts a Town Hall on the third Monday of every month—an open forum with no set agenda, where residents can bring questions, share concerns, and talk about the topics that matter most to them. For the July meeting, the Lilburn Police Department will be joining us to answer your questions and hear directly from the community. Come be part of the conversation!

Recap from the June 18 DDA Meeting

At last night’s Downtown Development Authority meeting, members voted to move forward with the purchase of a new domain name to support future marketing and outreach efforts. The Authority also approved the authorization to surplus the property located at 243 Main Street, allowing for potential sale or redevelopment opportunities aligned with the City's strategic goals.

Employee Appreciation Week Recap

Last week, the City of Lilburn’s Human Resources Department hosted Employee Appreciation Week — a heartfelt celebration of the dedicated staff who keep our city running smoothly. Tax Assessment Appeals

The Gwinnett County Tax Commissioner's Office mailed 2025 property assessments to all property owners in Lilburn. Please review your assessed value. If you do not agree with the 2025 valuation, you may appeal. There is no cost to appeal, and you may save on your 2025 property taxes if your appeal is successful. Learn More About Appeals

Millage Rate Hearing

Invitation to Comment on the 2025 Millage Rate:

The public is invited to comment on the 2025 millage rate prior to its adoption by Lilburn City Council. The millage rate is proposed to remain the same as the 2024 property tax rate at 4.43 mills. Real and personal property taxes make up approximately 27 percent of the city’s general fund budget. This estimate includes changes in the assessed value of properties, pending appeals and new growth.

The City Council is scheduled to adopt the 2025 millage rate at its regularly scheduled meeting at 7:30 p.m. on July 14, 2025, in Council Chambers, 340 Main Street, Lilburn, GA 30045. Hearings are scheduled for the following dates and times in council chambers:

  • 10 a.m. Friday, July 11
  • 6 p.m. Friday, July 11
  • 6 p.m. Monday, July 14

Lilburn Community Garden

Things are starting to take shape at the Community Garden! Crews have been prepping the area and beginning installation of columns for the new sign, archway, and fence. Stay tuned as this space continues to bloom!

Bryson/Hood Road Re-alignment Project Update

Sidewalk construction began along Highway 29, and pedestrian signals will be activated to improve safety for walkers. Temporary striping has been completed throughout the project area. Crews will also demolish the existing Jennifer Drive entrance and complete the tie-in for the new alignment. In addition, work continues on the frontage detention area, which will help manage stormwater and improve long-term infrastructure resilience. Project Plan

Railroad Avenue Project Update

This week, crews will work on breaking down wall forms and backfilling. You may also notice a crane on-site as the project begins to go vertical. Learn More About the Railroad Ave Project
